FLAKING UNITS

FLAKING UNITS

Having delivered numerous flaking units world-wide our company has vast experience in the production of flakes and sheet material. We are able to offer various feeding devices selected on the basis of our client’s process requirements. The corresponding cooling belt units are equipped with breaking or cutting devices at the discharge end.

Additional cooling devices such as upper belt cooling or cooling air hoods are added from the top to reduce the cooling length. Due to the product’s chemical behavior, the fumes or to reduce moisture in the final product our cooling belt units are always equipped with optimum hoods, ranging from simple protection covers to complete enclosures.

Flaker Systems – Industry Benchmark Technology

Flaking (film casting) is not merely an alternative to pastillation.

In several high-demand applications, it is also a technically superior process, same as the various KAISER pastillation systems.

KAISER has more than seven decades of experience in designing, optimizing and industrializing flaker systems. Our solutions are not adaptations — they are purpose-built technologies refined through decades of engineering expertise.

Flaking becomes the preferred solution when:

  • Very high production capacities are required
  • Product viscosity prevents stable drop formation
  • Feed temperatures reach extreme levels
  • Specific granule shapes are secondary to throughput and process stability

Feeding Technology – Engineered, Not Standardized

The performance of a flaker system is defined by the feeding concept.

KAISER has developed a comprehensive portfolio including:

  • Overflow weirs
  • Feeding pipes and trough systems
  • Single and double squeeze rollers
  • Precision doctor blade systems
  • Casting pans and customized distributors

Feed temperatures up to 450°C are achievable depending on product properties.

Advanced Cooling Concepts

KAISER supplies both:

  • Single belt coolers
  • Double belt coolers, enabling enhanced heat transfer and superior process stability

Systems can be executed as:

  • Open systems
  • Closed systems
  • Fully gas-tight encapsulated systems

Leadership in Encapsulated Solutions

In fully sealed flaker systems for toxic or hazardous products, KAISER is widely recognized as a technological market leader.

Our encapsulated systems feature:

  • Gas-tight enclosure concepts
  • Controlled atmosphere integration
  • Advanced sealing and safety design
  • Maintenance-optimized accessibility

These systems are the result of decades of development in demanding chemical applications

Precision Granulation

At the discharge section, integrated crushing units allow:

  • Adjustable granule size
  • Narrow particle size distribution
  • Reduced dust generation

This ensures reliable downstream handling and logistics performance.

For customers who require performance, reliability and long-term operational stability — KAISER sets the benchmark in flaker technology.
