Solution for Safe Handling of a Toxic Product
Challenge: Our customer in India manufactures a product that is solidified on a competitor's cooling belt. The product is harmful to health, and as the existing plant is relatively open, many product vapors escape into the environment. The product is also hygroscopic and is fed in at 200°C, while its low melting point requires cooling water below the ambient air's dew point.
Solution: We provide a completely gas-tight encapsulated system together with a dehumidifier. Plant design and layout are based on data from a system supplied to a German company in the 1980s, making design tests with the toxic product unnecessary. After commissioning, the customer is highly satisfied, especially the employees working on the system, who no longer need to wear gas masks.
